W&DW congratulates rights champion Bong Joon-Ho on Oscar wins for Parasite

Writers & Directors Worldwide congratulates the former President of the Directors Guild of Korea, Bong Joon-Ho, for his wins at the 2020 Oscars! His film, Parasite, became the first foreign language film in 92 years to be awarded Best Picture.

A champion for audiovisual authors’ rights in his country and abroad, Bong Joon-Ho is an advocate for bringing fair remuneration for screenwriters and directors to the region. W&DW will be holding its annual congress in Seoul this year, hosted by DGK, to support this fight alongside its regional alliance, the Asia-Pacific Audiovisual Writers and Directors (AAPA).
